Unlock the Charm of St. Patrick's Day in San Diego🍀

St Patrick's Day has a special place in my heart for two reasons: 1) I'm Irish and 2) I moved to San Diego St Patrick's weekend in 2017. I love any celebration of culture and heritage and San Diego has a lot of ways to celebrate this festive holiday!

  • St Patricks Day Parade & Festival - March 16th, 9am-6pm (parade starts at 10:30am). This festival takes place every year and is a great family friendly event! The parade starts on Fifth Ave at Laurel Street and travels down surrounding streets. This year's theme is Unity with Peace in Ireland, and Beyond. At the festival, held in Balboa Park, there are a variety of vendors from food to crafts to music.

  • Irish 4 A Day - March 15th, 16th, & 17th - Irish party hop in Gaslamp.

  • San Diego Leprechaun Run - March 16th, 9-11am - 5k run (or 1k for kids) in Pacific Beach. Runners receive t-shirts, medals, drink tickets, and photos!

  • ShamROCK Music + Beer Festival - March 16th, 2-11pm - This celebration occurs in downtown, in the Gaslamp district. The event is open to all ages but does require tickets. There are several stages that feature live musical performances, Irish dancing lessons, food & drink (including the popular green beer!)

  • The Luck O' Loma St. Patrick's Day Weekend Celebration - March 16th and 17th - a dog friendly event with DJs, food vendors, games, and green beer.

  • Kiss Me I'm Irish Bar Crawl - March 15th, 16th, & 17th - Bar crawl in Pacific Beach

  • Leprechauns & Live Music - March 17th, 12-3pm - Irish music and Light tunnels at Seaport village

Irish Pubs:

In addition to these fun events, many restaurants will have special menus and celebrations going on St Patrick's Day weekend as well. Check out your favorite restaurant or bar's Instagram or website to see what they may be planning!

Whats your favorite way to celebrate St. Paddy's Day? 🍀
